About

A Journey Back to Self

Cassie Krajewski created Inner Atlas to help you experience transformation and liberation while navigating life's most complex concerns. It can be a vulnerable process to get to the root of how you arrived where you are now, and traveling the path to healing with a trusted guide is key. At Inner Atlas, we cultivate a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space for exploration and growth. We believe that all aspects of you deserve recognition and inclusion, including race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, age, religion, faith, body shape, size, and ability. We invite you to show up exactly as you are to awaken the wisdom within you.

Meet Inner Atlas Founder Cassie Krajewski, LCSW

Growing up in a small, rural community, I never felt like I fit in. I quickly learned that becoming who others wanted me to be provided some semblance of belonging. That meant thinking, acting, and believing like those around me. It meant anticipating the needs of others, rather than paying attention to my own. It required ignoring my intuition and accepting the answers I was given. And it took controlling my body to take up as little space as possible – physically, emotionally, relationally – so as to be more accommodating to others. I carried with me a deep sense of shame, and disconnection from my divine self, which left me sick, lost, and disembodied.

It took leaving my home community and coming face-to-face with my fragmentation to understand life didn't have to be this way. I entered intensive therapy, which at the time was entirely unfamiliar, scary, and difficult. And therapy saved my life. It provided a safe space to explore my identity and purpose, and to deconstruct the layers of trauma and pain I had experienced in my early life. I learned that I wasn't a problem, and that I can trust myself and my inner knowing.

Awaken the self.
Everything is already within you.

A Shift in Worldview

The healing process also changed my worldview. While in my first career as a teacher, I realized that seeking social justice and the dismantling of oppressive systems was the context through which I could truly help others. I was drawn to pursue a degree in social work and to dive deep into the study of therapy, alongside community organizing, activism, and advocacy. As a clinical social worker, my early career experiences took place in a residential eating disorder program, and later, an outpatient substance use agency.

While I enjoyed my work, I became impatient with how little movement I saw my clients making, caused by a narrow focus on symptoms instead of causes. When I later began work in a community mental health center, my mentor introduced me to the benefits of using EMDR in treating trauma. That’s where I fell in love with the study of neuroscience and the nervous system, and where I learned how working with the whole body could take clients further, faster. I became a certified EMDR therapist and consultant, and now as an EMDR advanced trainer, I draw on my early teaching experience to help other therapists integrate EMDR into their practice.

Integrated Specializations

In the later stages of my healing and embodiment journey, I began to reclaim access to pleasure and satisfaction as a birthright – trusting my body and the wisdom it held. I also developed expertise in the field of sex therapy. I earned my post-graduate certificate in Sex Therapy from the University of Michigan, which is renowned as one of the world's leading sex therapy programs. Helping clients reestablish their relationship with their sexual selves is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work as a therapist.

In the past few years of my practice I've continued to expand my learning and growth as therapist participating in two intensive training programs: Internal Family Systems Level One and Body Trust® Certification Program. Both of these training experiences deeply inform my practice currently. I continue engage in ongoing consultation in EMDR, IFS, and Body Trust work as a commitment to my own personal and professional growth.
At Inner Atlas, my mission is to create a safe and affirming environment that supports you in experiencing healing, connection, and liberation.
